Every night at Rick’s could easily be an episode in a reality TV show. There’s a great cast of characters, surprising cameo appearances, music, beautiful decoration and atmosphere, plus an exotic location with a window to the cultures, conflicts and controversies in North Africa and the Middle East. Issam has designed our website so that a lot of the ambience is captured through his photographs, and some of the anecdotes I’ve recounted, but when people come to visit they always tell me that Rick’s is much more beautiful and impressive live. So I suggested to Issam we might want to have a webcam and try to convey some of our “Rick’s reality.” Issam won’t take on a project unless he can follow it through to the best creative, technical and marketing solution. So what we’re launching with “Rick’s Live” is not just a passive webcam, but a full webcasting service with a wide array of programming to suit our world audience. We’ll start by giving you a feeling of our nighttime ambience - just click on the link "Live in Casablanca" on the left - and over the coming weeks we’ll add special interviews, commentary and music features.
