NUMBER 6 - PEOPLE & EVENTS - RICK'S CAFE 3RD ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION. Our annual anniversary is our time to mark changes and improvements. This year's anniversary was again a case of making some decorative changes and additions that were ready for the event, but most important we decided to forego a crowded and overly social cocktail party by inviting our clients and friends to enjoy a full course dinner "on the house." We had the Rick's Cafe Official Trio of Issam, Hamza and Xavier providing music throughout the evening with the excitement of a Tombola of prizes including a Nokia mobile phone and luggage from Royal Air Maroc. A giant birthday cake finished off the evening and a great time was had by all as Riçk's Cafe entered it's Fourth Season. Issam created an antique-style photo of our ensemble that has become a classic. NUMBER 6 - ADDITIONS AND IMPROVEMENTS AT RICK'S - NEW DINING CHAIRS! Although this sounds mundane, we had a constraint in our upstairs dining room with the space taken up by our green leather banquettes. There was little flexibility and they seemed to dominate the rooms where they were placed. So we embarked on a plan to exchange the banquettes for chairs, also in green leather, modeled after our classic (and compact) bar stools. The addition of these new leather chairs added a real touch of refinement to our upstairs dining areas and overnight the stigma between being seated upstairs rather than downstairs in the courtyard simply disappeared. |
